Boost One SEO is a Google Ads agency in Montreal, Quebec, and a certified Google Partner. We plan, build and manage Google Ads campaigns for businesses that want leads, calls and sales from paid search: Search, Shopping, Performance Max, YouTube, Display and Local campaigns, with conversion tracking set up properly and run alongside SEO so paid and organic work from one plan.
Google Ads is the system that places the sponsored results at the top of a Google search, the product tiles in Google Shopping, the ads before and during YouTube videos and the banners across millions of websites. You choose the searches, audiences and places you want to appear for, you set a daily budget, and you are charged when someone clicks (or, for some formats, when they see the ad). It is the fastest way to put a business in front of people who are looking for exactly what it sells.
What most people do not realize is that Google does not simply sell the top spot to the highest bidder. Every time someone searches, an auction runs in a fraction of a second, and your position depends on your bid multiplied by a quality score: how relevant your keyword, your ad and your landing page are to that search, and how often people click your ad when they see it. A well built account with tight keywords, relevant ads and fast landing pages regularly outranks competitors who bid more, and pays less per click doing it.
That is where accounts go wrong. Broad keywords that match searches you never wanted, one generic ad for every service, no negative keywords, conversion tracking that counts page views as leads, and a "set and forget" approach that lets Google's automation optimize toward the wrong goal. The result is a monthly bill, some traffic and very few customers. Google Ads management is the work of fixing all of that and then improving it every month.
Which campaigns, which searches, which audiences, which locations and what each lead is worth. Decided before anything is built, not guessed after.
Calls, forms, purchases and booked appointments recorded correctly. Without it, Google optimizes toward noise and you cannot tell what worked.
Campaigns and ad groups organized by intent, with the right match types, negatives and bidding strategy, so every dollar goes to a search that can convert.
Ads that match the search and landing pages that make the next step obvious. Better relevance means a better quality score, cheaper clicks and more conversions.
They do different jobs, and the businesses that grow fastest usually run two or three of them from one plan. Here is how they compare.
Reaches people at the exact moment they search for what you sell. Live in days, measurable to the lead, and scalable as long as the economics hold.
Earns rankings on merit. Slower to start, but it compounds, and it keeps working long after the work is done. Our SEO services are built to run alongside ads.
Reaches people who are not searching yet, based on who they are and what they are interested in. Strong for awareness, retargeting and visual products. See our Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok ads management.
Every account gets the same six things from our Google Ads experts in Montreal, whether it is a single clinic in Laval or a national ecommerce brand. Skipping any one of them is usually why the last agency's results stalled.
A Google Ads account is only as good as the plan behind it. We start with your numbers: what a customer is worth, how many leads turn into jobs, which services or products carry the margin. From there we map the searches people make at each stage, decide which ones deserve a bid and which ones should be blocked, and build campaigns and ad groups around intent instead of around a keyword dump. If you have an existing account, we audit it first and keep what works.
Taking over an account? We rebuild gradually, so you keep the history Google's automation has learned from rather than starting from zero.
More Google Ads accounts fail on tracking than on anything else. If a "conversion" is a visit to the thank you page that anyone can reach, or if phone calls are not counted at all, Google's bidding optimizes toward the wrong thing and your reports are fiction. We set tracking up properly before the first campaign goes live: forms, calls, chats, purchases and booked appointments, each one defined, tested and tied back to the keyword and ad that produced it.
Tracking setup is included in every program. Our analytics and tracking service covers it in detail.
Search campaigns are the core of most Montreal accounts. Someone types "emergency plumber Laval" or "immigration lawyer downtown Montreal", and your ad is the first thing they see, with your phone number, your locations and the reasons to choose you. We write the ads in both languages, build the extensions that take up more of the page, and manage bids by search term, time of day, device and neighbourhood. For service businesses we also run Local Services Ads and Maps placements where they are available, so you show up above the map as well as in it.
If local leads are the goal, pairing Search with our local SEO Montreal work covers the paid spot, the map pack and the organic results at once.
For online stores, Google Shopping and Performance Max are where most paid revenue comes from, and where most waste hides. A messy product feed, one campaign for the whole catalogue and a blended return target let a few bestsellers subsidize hundreds of products that never sell. We fix the feed first, then split campaigns by margin, category and performance so each group gets the bidding it deserves, and we watch Performance Max closely instead of letting it spend wherever it likes.
Running Shopify, WooCommerce or Magento? We work directly in the platform and the feed, and we coordinate with your ecommerce SEO so paid and organic product visibility support each other.
Most visitors do not convert on the first visit. Remarketing puts your ads in front of the people who came to your site, watched your video or added a product to their cart and left, on YouTube, across the Display Network and in Gmail and Discover. We also use YouTube and Display for demand generation when a market needs to hear about you before it searches, with tight audiences and frequency caps so the budget is not spent on the same person twenty times.
Need the video itself? Our UGC video creation service produces short, natural clips that perform well on YouTube and social.
Half of Google Ads performance happens after the click. A visitor who lands on your homepage and has to hunt for the service, the price range or the phone number leaves. We build or fix landing pages that match the ad, load fast on a phone and make the next step obvious, then test headlines, forms and offers to push the conversion rate up over time. Every month you get a report in plain language: what was spent, what it produced, what changed and what we are doing next, with a review call with the specialist running your account.
Our web design team builds the pages when a new one is needed, with the same conversion focus.
Numbers from client accounts and the certifications behind them. Case studies are linked where we have published them.
The typical change we see after rebuilding an account's structure, fixing its conversion tracking and tightening the search terms it pays for. Some accounts move further, some less, depending on where they start.
Paid and organic search working together took a brokerage from almost no online visibility to more than 400,000 Google visits in a year and thousands of new inquiries.
Read the customs broker case study → PartnerGoogle Partner status means the specialists on your account hold current Google Ads certifications and the agency meets Google's performance and spend requirements. You can verify it on Google's own site.
Verify on Google Partners →Montreal auctions have their own rules. Two languages, two sets of competitors, neighbourhoods that behave like separate cities and national brands that bid on everything. Here is how we handle the situations we see most.
A French campaign is not an English campaign run through a translator. The searches are different, the competitors are different and the clicks are often priced differently. In many Montreal categories the French auction is less crowded, which makes it the cheapest lead source an English business never runs. In others, a national brand's English ads never show in French at all, leaving the field to whoever bothers.
We research keywords in both languages, write ads that read naturally in each, build separate landing pages and set the language targeting so the right ad reaches the right person. Reporting shows both sides on their own, so you can see which language is bringing the better leads and move budget accordingly.
Plumbers, electricians, roofers, movers, clinics, dentists, lawyers, accountants. If your business lives on phone calls, Google Ads is the fastest way to make the phone ring, and the easiest place to waste a budget on clicks from three boroughs you do not serve. We build local accounts around calls: call extensions, call only ads at the hours you answer, Local Services Ads where your category qualifies, and tracking numbers so every lead is traced to the search that produced it.
Targeting is set by the areas you actually want work in, with bids raised in the neighbourhoods that convert and lowered in the ones that do not. Pair it with our local SEO Montreal service and you cover the paid result, the map pack and the organic listing for the same search.
Online stores need a different kind of management. The questions are about product feeds, margins, return on ad spend by category, seasonality and how much of the revenue Google is taking credit for that would have happened anyway. We separate brand searches from non brand, split Shopping and Performance Max by margin so the campaigns bid in proportion to what each product earns, and track revenue down to the product so decisions are made on profit, not on blended averages.
Feeds get the same attention as campaigns, because a product with a poor title and a missing attribute does not show for the searches that would sell it. For stores with a French and English catalogue, both feeds are optimized and both audiences get their own campaigns.
Manufacturers, distributors, software companies and professional firms sell to people who research for weeks and involve several decision makers. For them, Google Ads is less about the instant call and more about capturing the right searches early, qualifying the lead on the landing page and feeding the sales team enough information to follow up well. We build B2B accounts around search intent by buying stage, exclude the job seekers and students who click on industrial keywords, and import closed deals back into Google so the bidding learns what a real customer looks like.
Campaigns run across Canada, the United States and Europe from Montreal, with separate structures per market where the language or the competition changes. Our B2B SEO work covers the organic side of the same searches, and we have written specific guides for Google Ads for manufacturers and Google Ads for clinics.
Most Google Ads agencies in Montreal only do ads, and most SEO agencies only do SEO, so the two channels end up competing for the same customer with no one looking at the whole picture. We run both. Search term data from your ads tells us which keywords are worth ranking for organically, organic rankings tell us where paid can be pulled back, and one report shows what each channel brought in.
In practice that means fewer wasted clicks on searches you already rank first for, paid coverage for the searches SEO has not reached yet, and landing pages that serve both. If you only want ads, that is fine too. But if you have been running Google Ads as a standalone for years, the first thing we usually find is organic opportunity the ads have been paying for. Our post on organic SEO vs PPC management walks through when to use each.
Five phases, in order. You see the audit and the plan before anything changes in your account, and you decide whether to continue.
A 15 minute call to understand your business, what a customer is worth and what you have tried. If it makes sense to go further, we audit your existing account or your market: tracking, structure, search terms, wasted spend, landing pages and what competitors are doing. You get the findings either way.
We turn the audit into a plan: campaign types, keywords and audiences in each language, targeting, the bidding approach for your stage, the landing pages needed and the cost per lead and return we expect to reach. You approve it before we build anything.
Conversion tracking goes in and gets tested before a single ad runs. Then campaigns, ad groups, ads, assets, negatives and audiences are built or rebuilt, and landing pages are prepared. Existing accounts are restructured gradually so the history Google has learned from is not thrown away.
The first weeks are about data: which searches convert, which do not, which ads and pages win. We review search terms weekly, adjust bids and budgets, add negatives, test ads and pages and move toward automated bidding once there are enough conversions for it to work. This is where cost per lead usually comes down.
A plain language report shows what was spent, what it produced and what changed. On the review call we agree on what to scale, what to cut and what to test next. As the account proves itself, budget moves toward the campaigns that bring the best customers, and new campaign types are added when the data supports them.
Start With the Free AssessmentA lot of accounts are "managed" by someone who logs in once a month. Here is what gets looked at in yours, and how often.
The actual searches that triggered your ads, not just the keywords you bid on. Irrelevant terms become negatives, and new converting searches become keywords of their own.
Whether each campaign is spending in line with its results, whether the budget is running out before the best hours of the day and whether automated bidding is still targeting the right number.
Site changes break tracking without anyone noticing. We check that calls, forms and purchases are still recording correctly, because every other decision depends on it.
Which headlines, descriptions and extensions are earning clicks and conversions, and which are dragging the ad strength and quality score down. Losers get replaced, winners get expanded.
Conversion rate, speed and the path from the ad to the lead, by device. A page that converts well on desktop and poorly on phones is one of the most common things we fix.
Who else is showing for your searches, how often they outrank you and when new competitors arrive. Montreal auctions change quickly, especially in the busy seasons.
We're in Old Montreal, and many of the businesses we work with are on the island or a short drive away. For local campaigns, targeting is set area by area, because a lead from a neighbourhood you do not serve is a click you paid for and nothing more.
Google Ads does not care where the agency sits, and a good share of our accounts target markets well beyond Montreal. We run campaigns for companies across Quebec, the rest of Canada, the United States and Europe, and you can read about the cities we work in most on our services by city page.
There is no shortage of PPC agencies in Montreal. Here's what's different about working with us.
The free assessment is a real look at your account and your market, not a pitch. If you already run Google Ads, you'll find out where the clicks are going, whether your conversions are being counted properly and what we'd change first. If you're starting fresh, you'll hear what the searches in your category look like and what a realistic first three months would be. If we're not the right fit, we'll say so.
If you want some background first, our posts on organic SEO vs PPC and using SEO and paid ads to compete with bigger companies cover the questions we get asked most.
Book the Free AssessmentMany of our clients came to us with an account someone else built: one campaign with every service in it, broad match keywords matching to anything, conversions that counted every page view, and a bill that kept growing while the phone did not ring more. We've rebuilt accounts like that for contractors, clinics, stores and manufacturers, usually without pausing them, because the history inside them is worth keeping.
That experience shapes how we work now. Tracking is verified before anything else, every change is logged, and the report you get shows what each campaign actually brought in, so you never have to wonder what you are getting.

Google Ads is Google's advertising platform. You choose the searches, audiences or placements you want to appear for, set a budget and bid, and Google runs an auction every time someone searches. Your position depends on your bid and your quality score, which reflects how relevant your ad and landing page are. You pay when someone clicks. Done well, it puts your business in front of people at the exact moment they are looking for what you sell.
PPC stands for pay per click, the pricing model where you pay for clicks rather than for impressions. Google Ads is the biggest PPC platform, so in Montreal "PPC management" and "Google Ads management" usually mean the same thing. Microsoft Ads, and paid social on Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok, are also PPC in the broad sense, and we manage those too.
Search ads are the text results at the top of Google for a search you choose. Shopping ads are the product tiles with images and prices, fed from your product catalogue. Performance Max runs across all of Google's placements from one campaign using your assets and goals. Display ads are the banners on websites and apps, mostly used for remarketing and awareness. YouTube ads are the video ads before and during videos. Most accounts use two or three of these, chosen by what the business sells and who it sells to.
Usually, if the economics work: a customer has to be worth more than it costs to win one. For most local service businesses and stores in Montreal, that is the case once the account is built properly and tracked honestly. The free assessment is where we look at your numbers and your market and tell you whether it makes sense before anything is spent.
Campaigns can be live within days of the plan being approved, and the first leads usually arrive in the first week. Getting to a stable, efficient cost per lead takes longer: tracking and structure are settled in the first two to four weeks, and meaningful improvements in cost per lead or return usually show in the first 30 to 60 days as the search term data comes in and the bidding learns.
It depends on your market, how competitive the searches are and what a customer is worth to you. Our clients range from a few thousand dollars a month to six figures. On the assessment call we look at the clicks available in your category and what they cost in Montreal, and recommend a starting point that can produce enough data to learn from. Starting too small is the most common reason accounts never get off the ground.
By leads, calls, booked appointments and sales, and what each one cost, tracked in Google Ads and Google Analytics 4 with call tracking in place. Clicks and impressions are reported too, but they are not the goal. For ecommerce we track revenue and return on ad spend by product and campaign.
Yes, and it is usually the first thing we do. We set up or repair Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4, add call tracking, define each conversion properly, turn on enhanced conversions and, where sales close offline, import them back into Google Ads so the bidding learns from real customers. Then we check it regularly so it does not quietly break after a site change.
If you serve customers in Quebec, almost always. The two audiences search differently, and in many categories the French auction has fewer competitors and cheaper clicks. We build separate campaigns, ads and landing pages for each language rather than translating one into the other, and we report them separately so you can see which brings the better leads.
Yes. Campaigns can be targeted by city, borough, postal code area or a radius around your location, with bids raised or lowered by area based on results. For a business that serves the West Island but not the East End, or Laval but not the South Shore, that is one of the first settings we fix.
Local Services Ads are the "Google Screened" or "Google Guaranteed" listings that appear above the regular ads for local service searches, and you pay per lead rather than per click. They are available in Canada for a growing list of categories, mostly home services and professional services, subject to Google's background and licence checks. We handle the application and manage them alongside your Search campaigns.
Yes. Many of our clients are in Montreal, Laval and the South Shore. Many others are across Quebec, Canada, the United States and Europe, including companies we have never met in person. Everything runs by video call, email and shared reporting, so distance has never been an issue.
Strategy and account structure, conversion tracking setup, campaign builds across Search, Shopping, Performance Max, YouTube, Display and Local, ad copy and assets in English and French, landing page work, weekly optimization, monthly reporting and a review call with the specialist who runs your account. Ad spend goes directly to Google from your own account.
No. We do not lock clients into contracts. We do recommend planning on at least three to six months, because the first month or two is spent gathering data and stabilizing the account, and the efficiency gains come after that. You see the plan and the expected timeline up front, and you continue because the results make sense.
You do. We work inside your own Google Ads account through our manager account, so the campaigns, the data and the history stay with you. If you ever leave, you keep everything. Agencies that build campaigns in their own accounts and hold them hostage are a big reason businesses end up starting over.
Yes, and we prefer to. An account with history has data Google's automation has already learned from. We audit it, fix tracking, then restructure in stages, keeping what works and replacing what does not, so performance improves without the reset that comes from pausing everything and rebuilding.
Pick whichever fits where you are. No pressure either way.
A 15 minute call, then a real review of your account or your market: tracking, wasted clicks, structure and what we would change first. You keep the findings either way.
